Gerald,

After a recount and double check on my averages and figures, as of tonights close, I find the High High cycle is now averaging a 78 trading day period. The shortest cycle in the series has been 60 trading days, and the longest cycle between highs has been 103 TD's, by my amateur count, so your 83 TD count is certainly in the realm

My revised re-calculation would put the next 78 TD cycle high at this Friday... February 3rd, 2006. Regardless I believe we're close to an I/T top. CEF, Gold/XAU ratio, and moneyflows from rydex are possible confirming factors as well. XAU on ST sell signal also fwiw per Rennie Yang at Markettells.com

Interestingly enough the 1st low @ 255 in the continuous gold contract occurred February 20th, 2001, so if the 5 down/3 up/ 8 year gold cycle has inverted, as I believe it has, Feb. 20th will mark the 5 year anniversary of the 1st major inversion, and 5 years up!
