those in positions of political and economic power or influence will continually seek to implant their messages into our minds That makes it sound like they are using psychic brain control powers. People in positions of great power, people in positions of moderate power, and some people with very little power, all try to push their ideas. Nothing wrong with that. Your problem is apparently that you don't like some of the ideas being pushed. That's fine but the answer is to argue against the ideas, not to argue that there is something wrong with the other side for trying to make it's case.
