This is not analogous to the cold war- a better analogy is to the IRA.

You're focusing on the terrorism aspect and I understand why you look to the IRA as a model. Terrorism is well down on my list of things to fret about.

I'm looking at the incompatible worldview aspect, the class of civilizations. I think this is very much like capitalism vs communism. Suicide bombers are bit players in that.
