Windows like the Bradley point on Dec 16 and again on Jan 15 and Jan 29... do not necessarily have to create a trend change... but they certainly can.

IMO and Others... these dates can also reflect an acceleration of a trend or breakout point from a flat trend in either direction.

The daily charts for DJIA and S&P show a flat trend since the first week in Dec... incorporating a rising wedge. The charts also show they've been through six high and low moves suggesting the flat has getting over done and nearing resolution... which in my opinion will be higher.
