"It doesn't take a genius to recognize that Iran was offering an olive branch. Why was it dismissed out of hand?"

Simple. Iran was part of the Axis of Evil. The AoE was created to have an enemy to confront. And you need an enemy, real or not, to distract people while you steal the country blind. If it hadn't of been for 9/11, we still would be in the same position with the Patriot Act, invading Iraq, NSA wiretapping and all, but instead of fighting terrorists, we'd be confronting "rogue states".

Afghanistan probably wouldn't have been invaded.

Coulter Jokes About Poisoning Justice 2 hours, 59 minutes ago

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Conservative commentator Ann Coulter, speaking at a traditionally black college, joked that Justice John Paul Stevens should be poisoned.

Coulter had told the Philander Smith College audience Thursday that more conservative justices were needed on the Supreme Court to change the current law on abortion. Stevens is one of the court's most liberal members.

"We need somebody to put rat poisoning in Justice Stevens' creme brulee," Coulter said. "That's just a joke, for you in the media."

Coulter has made a career of writing and lecturing on her strongly conservative views.

At one point during her address, which was part of a lecture series, some audience members booed when she cut off two questioners. "I'm not going to be lectured to," Coulter told one man in a raised voice.

She drew more boos when she said the crack cocaine problem "has pretty much gone away

Bush controls through fear. Anything that jacks up the fear, they see as increasing their control and political power. So, why WOULD they want any kind of good relations with Iran?

If I had a drug dealer who's killed children before move next to me in my neighborhood, you'd bet your ass I'd do everything in my power to have him removed from our neighborhood.

Likewise with Iran. They are bad actors and they need to be deterred from nukes.
