Your original notion was a knowledge worker working under contract.

"If you're a plumber, you can work for a salary or go into business for yourself. Most knowledge work can be done either under salary or by contract."

That is what I said. It was in the context of your assertion that Amway was the only easy way to start a business. I countered that there were lots of other business opportunities and specifically mentioned plumbers and consultants. The idea was that said plumber and knowledge worker could start their own companies.
