Thought I recalled it being higher. $8.50, Aug. '96.
And then the metals' markets went into a funk.
Of course, the market cap was lower then, but the 'prospects' (NPI) are brighter now.

Wow -- for some reason, my charts don't go back to before 2000. In any case, it's a new high for this millenium.
