made with reckless disregard for the truth.

I understand why this has to be a high hurdle to prove and I believe people use this to their advantage.

There are people that hide behind this fact and shield themselves with a battery of lawyers and make huge profits from it.

I am not calling for any reforms that would lower these hurdles.

I am only wishing that someday we can develop the tools to be able to expose and punish people who take advantage of the rule of law for nefarious dealings.

Just because I think I can look into O'Reilly's eyes and see a psychopath has nothing to do with the legal system. I am sure you and everyone else have come across in life people who are unethical, skirt the law, and exhibit psychopathic behaviour and get away with it. There is nothing we can do about it. We can only wish things can get better and that someday we can develop the legal system where only bad behaviour is punished or discouraged in some elegant legal manner.

I'm not a lawyer. I have no idea how that can be accomplished. But, somehow, I suspect that may not be impossible.
