"If I threatened to hurt or kill you"..."than it wouldn't be in self defense if I killed you after you drew a gun on me."

C'mom, Tim. The analogy I gave you was if you came to collect a debt from me. This was analogous to an Officer of the Peace coming to collect a debt to society from YOU. We are not talking about an Officer threatening to kill you. That would be a criminal offense. He/she would be no better than you are (in our analogy)--a criminal owing a legitimate debt to society.

Peace Officers either have a right to arrest criminals or they do not. Like all other citizens they also have a right to self defense or they do not. That the answer to the question should confuse you is mind boggling to me. If you are a killer or some other sort of criminal against society and if a Peace Officer comes to arrest you in defense of our rights and freedoms and if he/she is forced to use deadly force against you when you attempt to kill him/her...do you really think you can turn him/her into the bad guy?????

It is hard for me to consider at this point that you are arguing with sincerity. It feels more like pique. I mean--look at what you said: you pretended that the analogy of a Peace Officer enforcing the law was analogous to a Peace Officer threatening to "burn down your house". How am I to take you seriously when you represent such nonsense to this thread????? Do you SINCERELY believe that a Peace Officer who comes to arrest you for your criminal activity is threatening to "burn down your house". I won't humour this sort of nonsense much longer. I have better things to do...
