Let's hope that the Congressional hearings on domestic spying gets to look at what this spying program was all about, who was spied on etc.

I would hope that Bush is able to view the Palestenian election results in the way the Palestenians are. Besides, I thought that he is sincerely interested in spreading democracy in the ME. If so then I would expect him to be commending the Palestenians for having rejected corruption and the pocketing of US aid by corrupt Palestenian leaders. And he should also be supporting them in forcing Hamas to renounce militancy and instead take to diplomacy by forcing the mantle of power onto their shoulders.
