I'm sorry.

My high school experience was really different from yours. I actually still am in touch with my honors English teacher- and he still seems as brilliant today as he did to me in high school. I was lucky enough to have some great teachers in high school- some were better than any I had even at the college level. I don't think I ever had a better teacher than my honors English teacher of my Latin teacher.

California, at the time I got my education, had some of the best schools in the country- if I remember right.

Apparently I do remember rightly. This article is interesting- I haven't finished it, but I will, and others here might also be interested:

WOW- I'm looking at this graph of spending on the public schools in CA- I was lucky enough to be in school at the peak of school spending on a per pupil basis (as compared to the national average). It's gone severely negative since that time. How sad. (summary xxvlll)
