I think that imputing entitlements is a mindset of the far left. Even if the cost of an abortion were within the reach of the poor, I would find the notion of a right to one far left. The cost of a stamp is negligible but I don't have an entitlement to one.

Easy there. Let's go a little slow with such. Back up a bit. The right to privacy, which is the basis for women's control over their bodies so far as SC constitutional reasoning goes, is a bit more of a right than having enough money for a stamp.

Actually, it is a right.

One can argue for public funding on grounds of discrimination as well as on grounds of good social policy. Whichever argument makes sense, it would still bring us closer to a society in which people have ever so little more control over their social fates.
