Well, this round was more realistic than any of our (many, many) previous ones. At least this time she moved up a notch in seriousness from "want to kill us all" to "can buy nuke." Previous versions of my lecture had me explaining why "want to kill us all" doesn't justify "capacity to deliver." The difference is marginal, I realize, in the grand scheme of things, given the silos and fuel and all that, but still a step in the right direction. <g>

Dale, I'm so glad you are so sure that everything can go on as normal. It really is so much easier to believe that everyone in the current Administration is just telling lies for their own whatever-you-think-they-get-out-of-it.

BUT, if I am wrong, and you want to have some additional input, no matter how jaring it might be to the cozy situation you listed here, then here are a couple for you to review.

Doc 21 was prepared by mostly a Republican sub-committee for the review of the entire House in 1999, showing the previous 5 years, and projecting to the next 5 years, so until 2004. Of course, it was written before 9-11.

There is a very large section, along with photographs, and other documents, what talk about delivery systems, etc.

But really, it's OK if no one bothers even reading it for awhile. After all, nothing else will happen, will it?

Here is a Declassified US Record on North Korea and Nuclear Weapons... There are many documents on this site. (National Security Archive- Briefing book No 87)

This document shows that earlier than 1999, NK had missiles capable of delivery to the West Coast of the US. I've mentioned it many times over the years. (In the link above, it is Doc 21)
