Obama's complicated ... I'm a little disappointed he didn't take more of a high profile position against Alito. But maybe he decided this wasn't a fight worth fighting or wasn't a fight that was capable of being won. I don't know. One of my best friends is Obama's personal attorney. He thinks the world of him. My friend is a serious liberal who got me involved in that great campaign that led to Chicago electing a Black mayor, Harold Washington, back in the early 1980s. That speech Obama gave at the Democratic National Convention in 2004 was electric. I'm going to leave it to him to handle the big issues in Washington. I'll just piss on the sidelines for the time being. /john
