That's not how the media works these days.

The media looks to provide SOUND AND PICTURE BITES.

Sort of like:

"take a look at this....(two minute max)....and what about this...? (two minute max) NOW, don't go away, when we return
we'll have the latest news of the CONCEPTION of Angelina and
Brad's baby; we'll be back....!"

It works on the same basis as a carnival barker.

The whole format is not in the slightest capable of accommodating in depth ANYTHING.

Then there's the "MSNBC special on new advances in Artificial
Insemination where you will learn what you yourself could learn in greater depth in 10 minutes on the Net. But there are pictures of men preparing to "give their seed".

Wow!
What time was that to take place....?

Namaste!

Jim

As a humanistic person, I am too saddened to hear that ABC News' top anchor was seriously injured in Iraq. It does show journalistic fortitude to put yourself in harms way to cover a war. I'm sure he was well aware of the risks he faced when he got on a plane to cover Iraq. In fact, most jouranlist who have died in the line of duty recently have died in Iraq.

Ashley Banfield of MSNBC was let go after she covered the initial invasion of Iraq and was horrified to find the reality of death and destruction where an American missle lands. Her superiors apparently didn't like the fact that she refused to gloss it over.
