Yes, they were bad, but you CAN negotiate with people that value their lives. You CAN'T negotiate with people whose only desire is to kill themselves and take as many of your own people with them as possible.

Why do you think the Irish eventually were able to put an end to their fight and the Palestinians can't seem to do it?

Who said they have? Its taken them 50 years to get where they are now and still its an uneasy truce. Plus, they are not having to deal with the kind of land disputes that the Palestinians are dealing with.

And let me remind you.....the schism between Prots and Catholics in Ireland dates back centuries. The most recent breakout in that feud erupted in the 1960s but it had been simmering for years since the Isle of Ireland was partitioned.

You should read up on the background of the feud..........what your GOP friends have done in TX are similar to the tactics used by the Prots after the partition of Ireland......stuff like gerrymandering.
