It doesn't matter a damn who the current DEMON is. At a certain time it is OBL. At another time it is Sadaam Hussein. Yet another time Kim Jong Il. It will certainly become the current President of Iran (but probably Bushco have not figured out how to pronounce his name yet). Classic economics: guns or butter? You are not being given a choice. Guns it is. You can't have decent education for your kids and you can't have decent health care, and we are going to have to cut your Social Security. And so on. Why? To protect you dumb fearful guckers from: (fill in the name of the CURRENT DEMON). We have to fight them THERE in order to keep them away from HERE. Back home here we will spy on you in order to protect you from THEM. If you've got nothing to hide, it shouldn't affect you too much, right? ENDLESS WAR to protect RUNNING OUT OIL requires lots of money and an endless supply of demons. You wouldn't support a war to ensure a supply of oil would you? You would believe that the people selling would need to sell to the largest customer in the world. AND YOU WOULD BE RIGHT! So there have to demons. And you have to be kept fearful. In the meantime, ABC's anchor gets nailed by an IED in Iraq almost 3 years after the end of major combat operations and the supposed start of constructing a ME democracy. How much of a failure do these incompetents have to be in order to lose ALL support from ALL quarters? Iraq - SS - Medicare - Bankruptcy - 1.1% GDP - 44% increase in national debt - 17% decrease in employment - Katrina - etc. etc. etc. Instead of the nation holding them to a higher standard because of their power and resources, half the country holds them to a lower standard than the local dog catcher. If Republicans continue to run this country, we're not going to be a has-been, we're going to be the pathetic cripple of the industrialized world.
