We appear to be dealing with two different meanings of the term "rights". One meaning is that citizens have the right to exercise such and such and states and municipalities cannot block such an exercise. The second meaning, I gather the one you are advocating, is that there exists an affirmative obligation for the state to provide the means to exercise the right.

If that is the case, and let me know if it's not, then I agree that Roe did not affirm the latter right. My argument, however, is that it's a hollow right for poor women who cannot afford such.

As for the progressive whittling away, it's happening. And will definitely get worse as the immediate years go by. It's clear that, with Alito's confirmation, soon to occur, the right itself is in jeopardy.
