If pro-life were seriously pro-life, it would favor more measures to give women control over reproduction short of abortion. And, of course, it would be opposed to the death penalty

And if "pro choice" were seriously pro choice, it would favor choice in whether or not to wear a seat belt or a motorcycle helmet, among other choices that have been cheerfully regulated away by the pro-choice party.

As for the death penalty, give me a break. It is well outside the bounds of the discussions about abortion.

Of course it isn't outside the bounds of dicussions about life, but neither are seat-belt laws outside the bounds of discussions about choice.
