Rice Wants Nations to End Hamas Govt. Aid BY ANNE GEARAN, AP Diplomatic Writer

The United States wants other nations to cut off aid to a Hamas-led Palestinian government, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said ahead of an international strategy session on Mideast peace prospects.

Rice ruled out any U.S. financial assistance to a Hamas government.

Could Rice and company be any less brilliant? And there are buttheads who want to run her for president. Yikes! Its gets worse by the day.

I'm stumped on this one. I think Hamas has potential, but how can we possibly justify giving $300M/year and the EU giving $600M/year to an organization that is dedicated to perpetual warfare with Israel until they destroy Israel?

What the EU and the US want for our money is peace between Israel and Palestine. So if we're going to be funding Hamas, then they need to renounce their avowed goal of the destruction of Israel. I'm still chewing on this one, but I think I am leaning towards the current positions of the EU and US on this one. At the end of the day, we have to stop putting up with this type of bullshit.
