In general, Latin people everywhere are optimistic people.
Also very spontaneous and impulsive and changeable. But not always practical, though.

By contrast, the Chinese are inscrutable, practical and extremely hardworking.

In South-East Asia especially, the Chinese have been compared to the Jews of old. They share commonality in their love of learning and education, respect for traditions and the aged, an in business acumen.

To be sure, many Chinese today are still guided by the teachings of their ancient mentor, Confucius!

I was not in the least surprised when I read that in ancient times, the Chinese allowed some Jews to have their enclave in China at Kaifeng and did not hesitate to accept Jews to safety at Shanghai in the years prior to WWII.
