There are two lists used to screen passengers. The "no-fly" list covers names of those who are barred from flying in the US, period. The "selectee" list covers names flagged for extra scrutiny. People who find their names on the selectee list may be able to fly if they can prove they are who they say they are and that they pose no threat to domestic security. Most of the hassles you read about -- the 18 month old babies, Rep. John Lewis, etc. -- are people who have names on this selectee list. As of this writing, there is no way to get off the list (unless you are Ted Kennedy or someone like that) and no way to determine why your name is on the list in the first place. M2
