No bird flu [this year]. Maybe November 2007. It is failing to get a grip and the number of cases is too few to get a conversion to humanized type.

Yes, it only needs to succeed in one person who passes it on to two who pass it on to 4, then 8 etc. But the chances of that are low. So the chances of an early pandemic are low.
