I think your best bet is a USB external hard drive, with USB 2. If you don't have USB 2, you can buy a card with USB 2 ports.

I prefer removable hard drive caddies, this way I can have more than one hard drive, just need extra hard drive trays:

jpg files are just files. If you find that a file copy reduces their quality I would suggest you get a different operating system!
