Bucky - Oh great another comparison to the "great depression". Perhaps even more interesting than the decline in savings is the "why". Isn't this a sign of inflation? If people generally think their money will be less tomorrow - why save. This also might push up interest rates? Needing a higher rate of return to attract money. CD rates have been really going up lately!!
