Rock, as long as there is OPEC oil will be controlled just like DeBeer's does with diamonds. Keep the value high by limiting supply and creating crises in the news to stimulate the fear in the markets. Then again how many alternative energy sources like nuclear, hydroelectic, mining, refineries, coastal oil deposits have been politically sabotaged by Greenpeace and other extremist political organizations. We have the resources to exploit these alternative enery sources but have been handcuffed by extremist legislation. Let's understand the real issues that limit our energy independence.
