Well I won't know for sure til the transfer is complete.

Just initiated the paperwork this weekend.
Actually, I initiated some of the transfers directly online - no paperwork needed.

They tell me it varies depending on the firm, method, etc. I could do both ETrade and TD Waterhouse online since they utilize ACAT. The rep told me in most cases, it will be 7 days. The account transfer status section on Fidelity tells me they initiated the process yesterday and based on past experience, it will be complete on or before 2/13.

Today I logged in to a couple accounts I was trying to transfer at Etrade and Waterhouse and was unable to trade - which means they have already rec'd the request on their end and its in process. However, now I am at their mercy. thats the only scary part of the process.

Luckily most of what I was trying to move has longer term holdings in - but still . . .
