Pollitt is a small investment brokerage located in Toronto- AGC.V management is the same group as LAM.V by the way- ---I am hoping to see decent results from their current drill program on their Mara Rosa gold property- ----- Metallica purchased the property from WMC in 1997 for a payment of US $1.5 million. They spent approximately a further US $ 1.5 million on the project. This work was dominantly on compilation of previous work and completing a resource calculation. They only completed 500 meters of drilling. Note the Brazilian real was 1 to 1 to the US dollar at this time, so costs in Brazil were much higher than they are currently. ------- The Posse Mine produced 31,000 Oz from 2 small pits from 1992 until 1995 by heap leach. The mine stopped at about 30 meters depth when sulphides were encountered. A further 50,000 Oz were extracted from the barite rich Zacarias deposit which occurs further to the west. -------------- Metallica estimated a resource on the Mara Rosa from 19,000 meters of drilling of 12.8 million tons @ 1.8 g/t Au for 730,000 Oz. This is down to a depth of 350 meters.
