I doubt that Dowd can out-Coulter Coulter. (Not that anyone in her right mind would want to.) IMO it would be better if she declined to compete. If she had loft out the over-the-top stuff in this article and focused on a persuasive argument, she might have had a good one.

O.K. I like Maureen Dowd.. on the discussion comparing Coulter and her.. Here is her latest take..

I'm certain you know that Dowd is an equal opportunity critic. She was a strong Clinton critic, for instance. The right role for columnist--critic of the powerful.

Not Coulter.
