What we have now leads to the unhealthy class divisions that distort the free enterprise part of our economy. Class distinctions traditionally meant distinction based on your birth. Our modern system does allow for benefits derived from inheritance and other forms of support from parents but - 1 - It is to a large degree a meritocracy. 2 - Such distinctions good or bad or more natural than a distortion. 3 - Your proposed system allows for such benefits as well.
