Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni fails to win Egyptian support on Hamas

Well, someone must have made a call to Cairo, because Yahoo is reporting that Egypt and Jordan BOTH presented a unified demand that Hamas disarm and recognize Israel.

news.yahoo.com

Hamas being in power represents not just a problem for the Palestinians, but also for any nation that receives US assistance.

Because if any nation provides financial support to Hamas, then they are effectively providing aid and comfort to a terrorist organization.

Thus, I'm not sure when, or if, Bush is going to play that "card", but it is available to him.

And considering that Egypt receives $2 Billion/year in US aid, it sends a powerful message to that nation that they might be cut off as well.
