OT I am well aware that half of the US health care (in terms of dollars spent) is administered via a "socialized" health-care system that combines the worst aspects of socialized medicine with the worst aspects of a free market system. In our exchanges, I regularly point out that we spend more as a percent of GDP on Medicare, Medicaid and Veterans health than many other western countries spend taking care of their entire populations. That's because our medical/insurance lobbies control the rules and regulations of our "socialized" health-care under the guise of trying to make it more "free market".
