well snuff... Contrary to both the right and left on this thread I'd say as no one has ever agreed with me... I think Canada needs nukes... We'd never have to throw them very far... and hopefully never have to throw them at all...

Banned from the moderate thread eh ? LOL..

Uranium Exploration in Southern Saskatchewan: A Historical
Review
Lynn Kelley 1
Abstract
Beginning in the mid-1960s and continuing through the 1970s, southern Saskatchewan was the focus of several
intense exploration campaigns to find uranium in the Tertiary Ravenscrag Formation. The number of test holes, line
miles of radiometric surveys, and assays completed by the various operators during this period reached into the
thousands.
The Ravenscrag Formation is a 160 to 240 m thick, flat-lying sequence of fluvial and estuarine immature sandstone,
siltstone, and mudstone interbedded with lignite-rank coal. The principal exploration target was epigenetic uranium
mineralization in lignite. Uranium appears to have been mobilized by groundwater and precipitated under reducing
conditions in the coals.
The highest uranium concentrations measured in the Ravenscrag lignite were in the range of 0.05 to 0.2% U3O8.
These values approached ore grade in the context of the Beaverlodge deposits that were being mined at that time.
While those concentrations are far less than that of material being mined from unconformity-type deposits today,
the potential of the immature fluvial sandstones of the Ravenscrag Formation as a source rock for epigenetic
uranium deposits may be of interest to current explorationists.
