If your point is that we don't come to the starting line even, I know that. I don't need any research results. I just don't see the relevance of that to whether we have a meritocracy or not.

So, I don't think you're arguing politics. I think we may be arguing dictionary. You'd think we could agree on what a meritocracy is even if we can't agree that we live in one. <g>
