Socialism is only possible as a parasitic lifeform, when it keeps from killing its host.

To rephrase something that someone only recently posted to me:

What is the difference between socialism and capitalism?

In capitalism man exploits man.

In socialism it is just the other way around.

There are plusses and minuses in most man made economic systems. Some systems are really bad, but nothing to date is anywhere near perfection.

I am not an economist and I don't know all the plusses and minuses (and I don't think any economist really knows).

What may sound good on paper (in theory) may not really work in reality. And a lot of it depends on execution (how governments make the system work).

But there is nothing wrong with socialist countries sticking to socialism and ty to make it work better, just as there is nothing wrong with our capitalist system and for us to try to make it better.

I don't think either they or us have to tear down our systems and to try something entirely new. But for some third world countries they may be better off by trying something entirely new.

It is all in the execution.
