The "cut" is just a decrease in future growth not an actual cut.

I read just a bit about this bill. I can't tell from anything I read what is actually intended. You can't tell if anyone's actual welfare payment will be cut or not. Saving money by reducing the check is not the same thing as, for example, saving money by cleaning out some invalid accounts or reducing staff due to increased productivity or tightening requirements for receiving the check like disallowing illegal immigrants. Hard to tell without doing a lot more work than I'm inclined to do.

I have an aunt to gets a HUD Section 8 rent supplement. She sweats it every year. This year's just came through. Next year maybe she won't qualify. She can't be sure from year to year. It's tough on her. If she doesn't, I'd be amazed if she felt something had been taken from her. She's very thankful for the years she has gotten the supplement. She gets to keep her studio apartment in decent place.

Tim, you're simply stating you disagree, not offering evidence. That's fine. It's clear we do disagree. And need to agree to do so, just so we can argue amicably about some yet to be developed topic.
