The more I see of JOT pitchforks the more they displace the simple trendline concept.

Then there is always the regression line.

When in doubt about lines, I always go to the Victor Sperandeo rule - up from a significant price point, and through the low which precedes the last top. Reverse for down trends. Works, and implies certain discipline.

Indeed, as I recall, Sperandeo thinks rules are necessary because at some point we all see what we want to see... and that can be costly.
