Yes Rich, many Americans are fat, dumb, lazy, and happy and the others have created a lifestyle where they do not have the time to sit down and read in depth, from many sources, what is going on. They are getting their "news" and "facts" from sound bites that are either half-truths or outright lies reported by those who are biased and not honest.

Oops! Sorry for the delay in replying to your post. I guess I must have somehow missed it earlier.

Yes, indeed, many Americans overeat, so much so that very many of them have lost not only their shape (physical contours and proportional dimensions) but also their health and physical fitness. As a matter of fact, there has been a Diabetes II (Diabetes Mellitus or non-insulin dependent Diabetes) explosion in recent years in North America arising from overeating carbohydrates-rich and oils-rich fast foods and drinking sugar-laden soft drinks, overeating red meats, and drinking alcoholic beverages to inebriation. In short, the diabetes epidemic is largely due to carbohydrates overloads.

Uncontrolled or untreated Diabetes II can cause any of, or any combination of, the following: heart attacks, strokes, blindness, and kidney failure, and nerve damage, and ED or erectile dysfunction.

Beyond all doubts, Diabetes II is very bad news! It is potentially a silent and insidious killer.

Before 1945 when no American fast foods and little red meat were available in Japan, relatively few Japanese died from the diseases mentioned above. However, from 1945 on, as more and more fast food stores opened up in Japan and the Japanese began to eat more and more red meat (imported from the US) and less and less of fish and of whales (which they were prohibited from hunting) the incidence of deaths due to heart attacks, strokes, blindness and kidney failures skyrocketed dramatically.

Ironically enough, many Americans, rich and poor, literally eat themselves to ill-health and death instead of eating to live.
