<<.......the rationale for drawing the new line as A-C instead of B-C? ..>>

Sorry, WLD....didn't get your question accurately.....

There is nothing that requires going to A-C instead of B-C, WLD......depends in part on your time frame....You may not recall, but in posting AAPL charts, I've frequently gone to B-C instead of A-C, or I may have kept BOTH A-C AND B-C as showing trends of differing duration or steepness.

Hard to explain with words...should try to create and post some pics.....would take a little time, so maybe over the weekend...??

There is also another rational for trendlines.

The Line .. it may be similar to a Fork Mid Tine in certain charts..

HI WLD,

The worst aprt about those simple lines is you are connecting the most emotional buy of the biggest panic sell most often "at the market" and that depends on how hard the poor guy got scalped.

They are quite often the result of perhaps the newest, most inexperienced trader out there, and we're using them as guidelines.

An art form of emotional GIGO.

Bob

WLD....Here are the scribbles I promised to follow-up with per our discussion the other day on trendlines.

Self-explanatory, I think....nothing earth-shattering, and, I'm sure nothing new to you...
