In my case with the .22-250, I filed down the ugly trigger guard, made the magazine easier to open, put in a crisper trigger, a better barrel and built one good looking stock, basket weave checkering, that was glass bedded and free floating. Bedded the recoil slug too. Three shots at 100 yards in a dime. Then there was the fun of building it.

The '03A3 was a very good action and lots of guns were built from them. Change barrels and get a different caliber. Lap the action and it was like the pre '64 Winchesters, smooth.
