I'm not saying it for you- you said you tip generously- and I believe you. I'm saying it because I think it needs to be said. Oh- and back to my point about the reporting. Even if it's only 8%, still that number is treated as the amount a waitress or waiter made for purposes of witholding. So tips are not optional anymore- which was my original point. They are simply part of the cost of eating out. That's how this started- it IS taking something away from someone not to give them their tip.
