That was in retaliation and I believe that is fair enough.

Ways back, prior to the visa waiver program, when USA required a visa for all foreign visitors, Japan equally required a visa for US citizens visiting Japan more than 72hrs.

I always liked that and thought the Europeans were stupid to let the US citizens visit without visa when European citizens needed one to pass the US borders.

Ted, it wasn't too long ago that Brazil started fingerprinting American tourists entering their nation:

newstandardnews.net

Turns out that Brazil isn't exactly perfect when it comes to human rights issues or the environment (although the fingerprinting spat had nothing to do with the environment).

Tell me something I don't know.

It just goes to show you that most nations are being utter hypocrites when they start blaming America for the world's troubles.

I don't know how you got on this tangent but ultimately, I don't care what other nations think about us. What I care about is how we behave in the world. And right now, we are behaving like bullies and idiots simultaneously. Bush and his administration don't have a clue when it comes to foreign diplomacy and have alienated more nations than they can shake a stick at.

Furthermore, I am personally embarrassed that he represents this country in the world. Its like a country bumpkin got into office and doesn't know how to put one foot in front of the other.
