I wonder about all these sensors sprinkled around the new cars. They enable impressive performance when the car rolls off the line, but they never get calibrated. After 10 years, I suspect these systems, fed by drifting and degrading sensors, are doing more harm than good.

Speaking of flex fuel vehicles, local news had a piece last night about a fellow in Miami making his OWN FUEL, consisting of used cooking oil from a chinese restaraunt, add a few safe chemicals and you have fuel that burns well in a flex fuel diesel engine. Guy says it costs him 80 cents a gallon to make that fuel and its perfectly safe, says you can throw a lighted match into it and the match goes out. He's been doing this for 2 years now. jdn
