It *was* for awhile. However, with the rain and warm weather we're having now, I expect it's closed. The crews that maintain the canal make quite an effort to keep it in shape, but the weather is a constant battle. I hope it doesn't get totally washed. However, I've been out hiking a lot lately, and a lot of the creeks and rivers aren't frozen this year. I've never seen so much open water at this time of the year.
