Hello Slider - Good to butt heads with you again - really.

>>>Merrill got a slap on the wrist in the Nigerian Barge scam...the bankers know the game:<<<

Yes, sir. It sticks deep in my craw, and makes me nauseous to even think about it. At least 20 Merrill executives should be wearing the broader variety of pin stripes for that one, and for about 20 years each.

>>>It's "burn baby burn" and "Aunt Millie" happy-times are here again - deja vu all over again...<<<

All traders have vulgar mouths. I bet Aunt Millie is sitting back thinking about all of those 45 year old suckers paying her social security when she hardly paid in a penny. I sure don't expect social security to be around when I retire. It will have been spent by long dead politicians buying votes of the retirees.

>>>Everything is for sale...and in Washington D.C.<<<

Its true, and it chills me to the marrow.

>>>the dual direct hits of hurricaines Rita & Katrina...and even with that .... Oil and Gas supply levels remain at the high end of five-year average levels - which fundamentally defy present price level.<<<

'Tis a conundrum more enigmatic than the ten year yield remaining so low. Iran??? I have certainly observed this phenomena and lost quite a bit of sleep over it. i have been buying puts for the first time in my life.

>>>PS: If you think Politicians and Global Bankers have made money off of the hoax of "Peak Oil-part II" ....just wait and see what they do when they get their greedy paws on the US Social Security system.<<<

As I have already said - it has already been spent. That is clearly in the rear view mirror. The federal budget has been balanced since 1957.

Cheers

Slider,
But what do you really think of Bush? Ha!

Actually I happen to agree with you that many politicians, bankers, brokers, CEO's, etc. are guilty of knowingly steering the USA population into a third world status...all in thier greed for power and wealth.

Why do the people of this country (USA) stand idly by and allow their future financial demise, and that of thier children and grandchildren? Why do they stap themselves with massive personal debt in order to live above thier means and pretend they are someone that they are not? Do they not see the exodus of jobs? The influx of 'so called' cheap labor, the pilfering of pension funds, a legal system gone bizerk, massive printing of money and borrowing on the federal level that will never be able to be repaid...all to buy elections. Either the general population does not have a clue what is taking place, just don't care, or just feel powerless to do anything about it. It's all live for today and the hell with tomorrow. Absolutely irresponsible behavior by government officials, business leaders, and a population that seems to think that they were given some right of superiority and that thier perfect little world will continue on forever. You are right...it's probably a reflection of Rome many years ago.

I'll have to end this now as I am running short on beer so I'd better go jump in...well...I guess the black SUV this time for a trip to the liquor store. Oh, I'd better not forget the credit card that still has a little room left on it...yep, I guess I'd better apply for some more new ones...ya know those CC companies are just plain crazy...when you max out the ones you have someone will always send you new ones. What a world. I wonder if I can get a 4th mortgage based on up to 250% of my homes value? After all, I know that the country club dues are coming up again...the neighbors would think something was wrong if I didn't show up there on weekends. And I know my 27 year old and 28 year old college kids are going to be hitting me up again for spring break vacation money...they used to like Corpus Christy in the late '90s...I wonder where it will be this year? Hope those kids decide on a major soon. Wish I hadn't yanked that last $2,500 out of my 401K last year. I hope Uncle Sam will work with me again at tax time...I'm not sure exactly how many years they will let me keep filing extensions...I think I still owe for the last 3 years. Oh well, I still have a lower debt/revenue ration than the federal government so I must be OK. Gotta run now..hicup/belch...excuse me.

Slider,

WOW! That was a mouthful. Thanks for putting my similar thoughts into finer prose than I could reasonably create.

I watched "The Smartest Guys in the Room" last night with my wife and she was so incredibly pissed as to how these 'financial thugs' took advantage of everyone from employee to shareholder to the unknowing American citizen, she marched out of the TV Room halfway thru the movie livid almost to the point of spitting!

I hate to sound like OPRAH but this is indeed a movie every American citizen should watch.

I'm going to watch it again tonight and pass it around to my friends...thank you NETFLIX for no late fees<gg>

ENRON is only the tip of the Iceberg in the world of corporate fraud.

I personally know this truth...I work for the wives in many of the gardens of these dubious capitains of industry.

(if you ever want to find the real truth about industry, simply listen to these fine women and the horrors they live with. It's hard for them to walk away from all that dough, so they tolerate the BS.)

Tim

"the final act of every government is to loot its own nation."

I still cant remember where I read that or even if it is correctly quoted... but I have felt we are in the final act for a while now.

God help us.
