If there is no place to sell the silver near by the guy getting the fish may have the advantage. Oh please! That is the most desparate grasping at straws I have seen in a while. You might as well bring in hypothetical meteorites too. Not desperate at all. What is prefered or advantagous is a highly individual thing. I know what I would prefer as compensation and can try to find a job that approaches that desire closer than other jobs. You know what you want. Perhaps you want more of your compensation to be in stock and less in cash, perhaps someone else wants better health care benefits, another person might like some other form of benefit. Each person has their own idea of what they want. You would mandate that they all accept the same thing. This is where I most strenuously disagree with you. The worker typically risks more since they are risking the whole focus of their livelyhood on the enterprise, and the investor is only balancing highly transportable funds.
