No, what Jim is talking about is different. Alzheimer's is connected to the amyloid plaques, which are tangles of protein in the cells. Whether the cause or a symptom is unknown at this time. Because they tend to have high levels of aluminum, it was once thought that aluminum cookware could cause it. That doesn't seem to be the case any more.

What Jim is talking about is the steady stream of dying brain cells as you age.

Comb is right. I'm talking about the loss of brains cells over time. In parkinsons it's the dopamine producing cells in the substania nigra. You're born with about 400,000 of these cells. You lose these cells over time to the point where everyone over about 95-100 will develop Parkinsons.
For some, like, Michael J Fox, it doesn't take that long. He was diagnosed at 30.
