However, having many friends in Hollywood and in the TV biz, I can tell you there is only one thing that drives the success of a TV series and that's ratings. The Book of Daniel just didn't get eyeballs and if a TV series doesn't do well fast, the networks yank it. End of story. I wasn't saying that the Christian groups were the reason the show was yanked -- I just said that they screamed bloody murder about the show, and those groups have millions of members in the U.S.. >As far as Comedy Central, I think I've seen the Jesus episode of Southpark several times on that channel. They make fun of pretty much everything, including Catholics and Christianity and they haven't yanked Southpark yet. So try again. Nope. You haven't seen the episode in question. See this link:en.wikipedia.org This episode was aired on December 7, which is the eve of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a Catholic observance related specifically to the Virgin Mary. The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights condemned this episode for its treatment of the Virgin Mary. They demanded an apology to Roman Catholics and that the episode "be permanently retired and not be made available on DVD." In particular they also demanded that Joseph A. Califano, Jr., a member of Viacom's board of directors and a practicing Catholic, issue his own statement of condemnation. [1] Califano did later release a statement calling the episode an "appalling and disgusting portrayal of the Virgin Mary," and pledged to have it reviewed by Viacom's president and CEO, Tom Freston. When Comedy Central reaired all the episodes from South Park's Fall 2005 season on December 28, Bloody Mary was noticeably absent from the broadcast. Also missing were screen captures from the episode on Comedy Central's press site and the South Park section of comedycentral.com. >What I have learned about Muslim behavior, especially in the Middle East, over the last 5 years has convinced me that they are savages with little in common with the civilized countries of this age. They have a lot of growing up to do. And bombing them and killing hundreds of thousands of them is going to help the grow up... Ahhh, the "white man's burden"... -Z
