I do the same thing when selling premium. Very steep drop in value in the last few weeks slants the playing field toward the seller.

I do just the opposite if I am buying premium. So long - even leaps. The exception to this rule is binary events. You want to go long enough to be SURE to capture the event but beyond that is not useful.
