A look back at what occurred in France a few weeks back could explain why radical islam is feared...or London subway attacks...Spain. Just a few radicals or outright terrorists can kill a lot of people or disrupt an entire country. IMO to give in to them in any way is surrender to their beliefs. IMO. I think laws of the free world apply to all residents it's just that they are not applied to certain groups such as radical islam out of fear and not out of any pretended respect for religions. An apology to radicals now would be a terrible mistake.
